RE:                           PROGRESS DRILLING REPORT FOR CHINGUETTI 4-2, 
                              OFFSHORE MAURITANIA

Hardman Resources Ltd ("Hardman") is pleased to announce that the wireline
sampling programme has  recovered three oil samples from the primary objective
and a gas sample from a shallower zone from the Chinguetti 4-2 well, offshore
Mauritania.



Since the last progress report (19/08/02) the wireline logging programme has
been completed.  The current operation is running 95/8 inch (244mm) casing prior
to production testing.




Prospect Description:


Chinguetti 4-2 is located in PSC Area B.  The well is being drilled on the
northern (upthrown) flank of the Chinguetti structure, approximately 2.5
kilometres north of the Chinguetti-1 discovery well, which was located on the
downthrown fault block.  This well is considered to be a significant step out
from the discovery well and is evaluating a geologically separate portion of the
prospect.  Proposed total depth (TD) is 2,840 metres.




Equity participation in the Chinguetti 4-2 well is as follows:



              Hardman Resources Ltd                           21.6%

              Fusion Oil & Gas NL                              6.0%

              Roc Oil (Mauritania) Company                     2.4%

              ENI Agip British Borneo Ltd                     35.0%

              Woodside Mauritania Pty Ltd                     35.0%
