Highline Technical Innovations, Inc., (PINKSHEETS: HLNT) majority
shareholder of Highline Hydrogen Hybrids, announced today results
of an emissions test on a 2000 Thermo King SBIII SR+ that comes
equipped with an Isuzu D201 34.8 HP engine. This refrigerated unit
falls within the Tier II category emission standards set by the
EPA. In April, Highline Technical Innovations announced the
purchase of a multiple gas analyzer (MGA) from SRI Instruments of
California. This analyzer was purchased to enable the company to
identify and measure in parts-per-million (ppm) the gases emitted
in the exhaust of any engine tested. Data collected by the SRI MGA
revealed a significant drop in harmful gases. The testing on the
Thermo King SBIII SR+ showed an 18.25% reduction in Nitric Oxide
(NO), or NOx as it is commonly referred. CO, or Carbon Monoxide, a
poisonous gas, decreased by 100% being completely eliminated from
the exhaust, and CO2, a "greenhouse" gas, decreased 59.5%. A
spreadsheet of the testing results has been posted on the company's
website available for viewing. www.highlineinnovations.com The
testing demonstrated that these reductions brought the trailer
tested in compliance with Tier IV standards as described by the
EPA. CEO Charlton Coats stated, "This is significant for the way we
will market to the trucking industry. There are many more
refrigerated trailers out there than there are trucks and until
now, we didn't know if our technology would bring older
refrigerated units in compliance with standards set by the EPA. As
these standards become widely enforced, many companies will have to
spend money to bring their trailers into compliance. According to
the Refrigerated Transporter Magazine the cost to currently
retrofit a refrigerated unit averages $2,000-$4,000. To replace the
motor only costs $5,000-$10,000, or $20,000 to replace an entire
"reefer" system. To replace the whole trailer would cost on average
$40,000 or more. These costs don't account for lost revenues or the
down time that a trucking company must absorb. Highline Technical
Innovations unit would require a significantly smaller investment
than other alternatives and would take only 1-2 hours to install,
thus lowering the cost of compliance in both time and money. This
presents us with a unique opportunity going forward. We can help
with emissions compliance while increasing a company's bottom
line."
