FRANKFURT--Deutsche Post AG (DPW.XE) expects its earnings before
interest and tax to increase by more than 8% per year on average
through 2020, the German logistics and mail group said
Wednesday.
"Our aspiration is to be the leading force in the logistics
industry by 2020 and the company that defines logistics," said
Chief Executive Frank Appel.
The group expects EBIT at its DHL logistics and forwarding
division to rise on average by 10% annually through 2020 and the
mail division by 3%. Last year's group EBIT was 2.86 billion euros
($3.94 billion) and the 2015 EBIT target of between EUR3.35 billion
and EUR3.55 billion remains unchanged.
Deutsche Post expects emerging markets to contribute 30% of
group revenue by 2020, up from just over 20% currently.
"Our new strategy will enable us to continue on our growth path
beyond 2015 and significantly increase our profitability year by
year," said Chief Financial Officer Larry Rosen, "and we will
achieve this primarily through organic growth."
