Centrica PLC (CNA.LN) said Monday that a minority of votes cast
at its annual general meeting were opposed to the approval of its
remuneration report after a difficult year for the owner of British
Gas.
The energy supplier got 85% support for the remuneration report.
All other resolutions received support of 91% or more.
In April the company said Chief Executive Iain Conn's pay
increased 44% in 2018 to 2.4 million pounds ($3.1 million), despite
Centrica missing adjusted earnings forecasts for the year.
Shares at 1446 GMT were up 3.3% at 95.60 pence, topping the FTSE
100 after Centrica reported a rise in revenue for the first four
months of the year and maintained its annual guidance.
