BGI, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: BGII) today announced that it has increased
its ownership position in SnapPages, an online SaaS (Software as a
Service), to approximately 21% of the Company.
SnapPages, an online Web site creation tool for the rest of us,
launched in September at the TechCrunch50 conference in San
Francisco. SnapPages was one of a select group of companies chosen
to demonstrate its product in the TechCrunch50 demo pit showcasing
innovative Web technology. SnapPages is an easy to use online tool
which allows the average person to create great looking Web sites
with drag-and-drop ease.
The TechCrunch50 conference generated a number of favorable
reviews for SnapPages. In one such article written by TechCrunch,
titled, "SnapPages, A Basic Webpage Designer That Apple Should Envy
(Or Buy)," the author Jason Kincaid is quoted as saying, "SnapPages
is a gorgeously designed service... The site offers a number of
customizable templates, allowing users to specify colors and the
placement of columns, text boxes, and widgets..."
The Austin American Statesman recently featured SnapPages in an
article in the TechMonday section and online. The article noted
that SnapPages removes the pains associated with creating a Web
site. SnapPages provides best-practice design guidelines which
frees the user to create content without worrying about
programming. The result is a professional Web site tailored to the
wants and needs of the user. SnapPages Web site themes are designed
in house by an award-winning professional designer.
Steve Testone who founded SnapPages in 2007 says, "Your Web site
is the front door to your company. You wouldn't pile up a bunch of
junk outside your front door and expect people to still want to
come in. That's why it's crucial to have a Web site that looks
great so that it represents you well. SnapPages helps you create
Web sites that make a great first impression that will give you a
competitive edge."
SnapPages offers a limited free version for creating small
personal Web sites and a premium version for creating full blown
Web sites for only $50 per year. This is cheaper than it costs to
simply get Web site hosting alone. SnapPages provides free Web site
hosting. SnapPages premium version allows you to point a domain
name that you have registered somewhere else directly to your
SnapPages Web site so that it shows up seamlessly.
