Walmart Inc. fashion items will be featured in a Friday night
TikTok event that the retailer calls a "first-of-its-kind
livestream shopping experience."
Ten TikTok creators including Michael Le, will appear in the
so-called shoppable variety show, which will include national
brands, like Champion, Jordache, Kendall + Kylie and Walmart's own
items such as Free Assembly, Scoop and Sofia Jeans. Users will be
able to tap on products they want to buy.
Walmart and Oracle Corp. have been seeking to buy a stake in a
new U.S.-based company called TikTok Global as TikTok has faced
U.S. threats of a shut-down.
Walmart said Thursday that the TikTok creators "will reveal
their favorite Walmart fashion finds in a way that's uniquely their
own - whether that's an inside look at their closet, a living room
runway show or a fashion-forward dance-off."
