Tyler’s solution will now serve 28 of 58
superior courts in the state
Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced it has signed
agreements with the Superior Court of California, County of
Mendocino, and the Superior Court of California, County of Shasta,
for Tyler’s Odyssey® case management solution. These agreements
represent the 27th and 28th California superior courts to select
Tyler’s Odyssey solution, which now serves approximately 70% of
California’s population.
Through a new master services agreement (MSA) with the state of
California, Tyler is now a preferred case management vendor, making
the process for courts to procure Odyssey quick and easy.
The County of Mendocino is in northern California, equidistant
from the San Francisco bay area and the California/Oregon border.
The Mendocino superior court chose Tyler’s Odyssey Case Management,
Judge Edition, and Clerk Edition solutions to replace its current
case management system, which lacks e-filing and other modern
functionality.
The superior court was looking to replace its current case
management system that would no longer be supported by its current
provider and selected Tyler’s Odyssey solution to manage all case
types, along with Odyssey Judge Edition™ and Odyssey Clerk
Edition™.
“We know Tyler has a strong track record serving superior courts
in the state, and we’re excited to see the efficiencies its case
management solution will bring to our court staff, including our
judges and clerks. Our vision is to revolutionize our business
processes to use technology to communicate with our justice
partners and to improve case flow management,” said Kim Turner,
court executive officer for the Superior Court of California,
County of Mendocino.
The County of Shasta lies northeast of the County of Mendocino
and occupies the northern part of the Sacramento Valley. Its
existing case management system is 28 years old and no longer
serving the needs of the court. Similar to the County of Mendocino,
the County of Shasta selected Tyler due to its experience with case
management specifically with California superior courts and its
reputation for delivering projects on time. The county was the
first of the nine courts that requested budget change proposal
funding from the Judicial Council of California to execute a
contract for Odyssey under the new MSA.
“With more than 220 users, our court is a busy operation,” said
Melissa Fowler-Bradley, court executive officer for the Superior
Court of California, County of Shasta. “We knew we needed a
solution that would effectively manage documents and processes, as
well as help to streamline communications with our staff. We’re
looking forward to implementing Odyssey and realizing those
benefits in our community.”
Like Mendocino, Shasta will also utilize Odyssey Judge Edition
and Odyssey Clerk Edition.
“Adding the superior courts of Mendocino and Shasta to our broad
client base in California underscores the success we’ve had
bringing modern and comprehensive court systems to the state,” said
Rusty Smith, president of Tyler’s Courts & Justice Division.
“With these agreements, Odyssey has been selected in 28 of the 58
superior courts in the state and Tyler has become the primary case
management system vendor in California. We look forward to
empowering legal professionals with helpful tools and expanding
access to justice for residents in these important counties.”
