Lancaster Colony Corp. Wednesday said it is teaming with
Chick-fil-A Inc. to bring the fast-food chain's popular sauces to
store shelves.
The Westerville, Ohio, maker of specialty foods said it will be
the sole supplier of Chick-fil-A sauces in a Florida pilot
test.
Chick-fil-A said it will offer 16-ounce bottles of its signature
Chick-fil-A and Polynesian sauces in all Publix, Target, Walmart
and Winn-Dixie stores in Florida.
Lancaster Colony, which already supplies sauces and bread
products to the Atlanta-based chain, said it will begin shipments
of sauces for the pilot next week, adding that it has exclusive
rights under a license agreement to distribute the sauces to
retailers around the U.S. should the test prove a success.
Chick-fil-A said the pilot will help determine its next steps
for a possible nationwide rollout later this year.
