Petrobras on new contracts with Braskem

Rio de Janeiro, December 22, 2020 – Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras informs that it has signed new long-term contracts with Braskem S.A. to supply petrochemical naphtha to the industrial unit in the state of São Paulo and to supply ethane and propane to the industrial unit in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The naphtha contract, in the estimated amount of R$ 19 billion, will come into force on December 23, 2020, after the termination of the current contract, and will remain in effect until December 31, 2025. The amount is up to 2 million tons per year.

The ethane and propane contract, in the estimated amount of R$ 7.6 billion, will take effect on January 1^st, 2021, after the termination of the current contract, and will remain in effect until December 31, 2025. The contractual quantities of ethane and propane, when added together, are equivalent to the production, by Braskem, of 580 thousand tons per year of ethylene.

Contract prices are based on international references.
