PR Newswire (US)
NAPERVILLE, Ill., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- OfficeMax(R) (NYSE:OMX),
a leading provider of office products and services, has announced
that it is installing new, state-of-the-art multifunction systems
from Xerox Corporation in all of its OfficeMax ImPress(TM)
locations throughout the country. The agreement with Xerox calls
for nearly 2,300 new self-serve machines to be installed by
February 2007 -- this extensive equipment upgrade will allow
OfficeMax customers to produce their work faster and with greater
quality. OfficeMax will be replacing its entire fleet of self-serve
copiers with the Xerox WorkCentre(R) Pro 245, a 45-page-per-minute,
monochrome multifunction system with output options that include a
2,000 sheet finisher, hole punch and convenience stapling.
"Replacing our black-and-white equipment gives our customers access
to the newest and best technology in the industry," states Harold
Mulet, executive vice president -- retail, for OfficeMax. "We chose
Xerox as our primary provider for printing equipment because of its
well-earned reputation for quality, speed and reliability." The new
Xerox equipment has embedded technology that will allow OfficeMax
to continue service upgrades in the future, including scan to
email, fax and mailbox printing options. "The key desire of every
customer is to have their work represent them at their best,"
explains Brian Norris, OfficeMax ImPress senior vice president. "We
anticipate that by reinvigorating our capabilities, we will attract
even more new business customers because the new OfficeMax ImPress
delivers high quality results at an exceptional value. With the
wide range of services offered by this feature-rich equipment, we
can help turn our customer's business image into their biggest
