KBR (NYSE:KBR) today announced that it has been awarded a contract by Egypt Hydrocarbon Corporation (EHC) to complete a pre-Front End Engineering Design (pre-FEED) study for two polyethylene units at its proposed Petrochemical Complex. The complex will be located 25 km (15.5 miles) from Suez, Egypt, near the Red Sea. Under the pre-FEED study, KBR will perform PolyEthylene (PE) technology evaluation and licensor recommendation to EHC. KBR has also completed a master plot plan study for the complex. This award will allow KBR the opportunity to further demonstrate our unparalleled expertise in the downstream market, said John Quinn, President, KBR Downstream. KBR is pleased to partner with EHC, building on the relationship forged during the prefeasibility studies for the Petrochemical Complex, and we look forward to successful project completion. KBR is a global engineering, construction and services company supporting the energy, petrochemicals, government services and civil infrastructure sectors.
