Harris Corporation Adds O'Neil & Associates to Pursuit Team for Major SATCOM Program - Modernization of Enterprise Terminals

MELBOURNE, Fla., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris
Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and
information technology company, has added O'Neil & Associates
to its team that is competing for a potential 15-year, $600 million
U.S. Army strategic SATCOM program called Modernization of
Enterprise Terminals (MET). The MET program will provide the next
generation of military satellite communications terminals that are
positioned around the globe for use in high-priority military
communications and missile defense. Award of the contract is
anticipated in May 2008. The first terminal is scheduled for
fielding in 2010, with program completion slated for 2020. Harris
is acting as prime contractor in the pursuit which will replace up
to 80 aging AN/GSC-52, GSC-39, FSC-78 and other strategic satellite
communications terminals around the world with new, X- and
Ka-band-capable terminals that will work with the new Wideband
Global Satellite constellation as well as legacy satellite systems.
O'Neil & Associates is a supplier of world-class logistics and
interactive, electronic training manuals. They also will support
the Harris team in minimizing spare parts costs for the MET
program. In August Harris announced that it had added General
Dynamics SATCOM Technologies to its MET program because of its vast
experience in developing and providing successful X- and Ka-band
satellite communications products. "Logistics and training will
play a key role in the success of this program, so we are very
pleased to have O'Neil & Associates as a member of the Harris
