Local Representative Setkom and Systems Integrator Aselsan Secure Contract With Turkish Government RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., May 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), a leading global supplier of wireless equipment and services, has been selected by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Turkey's largest government-owned city planning and public services authority, to supply TRuepoint(TM) microwave radios as part of a major upgrade of the local voice and data infrastructure. Harris TRuepoint digital microwave radios will enable enhanced capacity of up to 155 Mbits/s throughout the Municipality. With the continual growth of the district's public services infrastructure, which includes transport, water treatment and law enforcement, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality needed a telecommunications network that could handle high levels of traffic and could be deployed rapidly. The deal was secured by Setkom, Harris' local distributor, with deployment by systems integrator Aselsan, and is due to be completed in May 2006.
