MELBOURNE, Fla., March 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) today announced that Pamela Padgett, vice-president-Investor Relations, has been promoted to the position of vice president-Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. While continuing to lead investor relations, her role in the company has been expanded to include strategic oversight of companywide media relations and marketing communications activities. "Pam's leadership and valued insights have helped Harris build strong relationships with the investment community over the past decade, and she has been instrumental in shaping and communicating the company's strategic messages. She is now responsible for all external communications for Harris," said Howard L. Lance, chairman, president and chief executive officer. Padgett joined Harris in 1996. She was formerly vice president-Mergers and Acquisitions at MC Financial Services Ltd., a wholly owned investment and merchant banking subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation. Prior to joining MC Financial Services Ltd. in 1990, she held various finance and public accounting positions with Home Group Capital Markets and Coopers & Lybrand. A Certified Public Accountant, she has a bachelor's degree in science from the University of Florida and an M.B.A. from the University of Florida.
