Harris Corporation Appoints Jeffrey S. Shuman as Vice President - Human Resources and Corporate Relations MELBOURNE, Fla., July 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) has named Jeffrey S. Shuman to the position of vice president - Human Resources and Corporate Relations. Mr. Shuman had previously been vice president - Human Resources & Administration for Northrop Grumman's Information Technology business. He succeeds Nick E. Heldreth, who will retire from Harris at the end of July after 19 years of service. "As the senior Human Resources executive for Northrop Grumman IT, Jeff has provided leadership for an organization of over 24,000 worldwide employees and $5 billion in annual revenue," said Howard L. Lance, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Harris. "He has a solid track record of helping organizations to improve business performance through relevant and responsive 'people' systems. He also has extensive experience in acquisition integration and international development, and has served in both government and commercial businesses. We expect Jeff will have a sizeable impact on Harris growth initiatives and talent development." Shuman was senior vice president of Human Resources for Litton Information Systems when it was acquired by Northrop Grumman in 2001. Previously, he was vice president of Human Resources for Allied Signal's technical service business, and prior to that had a 14-year career in Operations and Human Resources with Avon Products. Shuman earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from The Citadel. Following graduation, he served as a Medical Service Corps officer in the U.S. Army. He has completed extensive executive development programs at the University of Michigan, Harvard Business School, and the Center for Creative Leadership. He also participated in a U.S. Executive Exchange Program with the People's Republic of China.
