Harris Corporation Signs IRTE SpA as Major New Microwave Distributor in Italy - Appointment of Leading Italian Distributor Underscores Harris' Commitment to Growing Customer Base in Western Europe - RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., March 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), a leading global supplier of wireless equipment and services, today announced the appointment of IRTE SpA, a leading telecommunications reseller with more than 30 years of industry experience, as its new distributor in Italy. This appointment underscores Harris' commitment to growing and supporting its distribution channel and customer base in Western Europe. Under the agreement, IRTE will become Harris Microwave Communications Division's first reseller in Italy for its microwave point-to-point wireless communications products. IRTE will also provide sales, implementation and ongoing management services to customers. This agreement includes Harris' next-generation microwave radio, TRuepoint(TM), the industry's first universal platform for point-to-point digital communications in the cellular backhaul market. Together, IRTE and Harris will offer service providers in Italy a complete, end-to-end solution for enabling wireless infrastructure and for transmission backhaul to the broadcast market.
