Eni SpA (ENI.MI) said Wednesday that it made a gas discovery in
the Merakes East prospect in the East Sepinggan block offshore
Indonesia.
Eni said it collected all the data it needs to carry out the
required studies for a field-development plan.
Analysis of test data shows the well, drilled to a depth of
3,400 meters in waters offshore East Kalimantan province, could
deliver 70 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas and
1,000 barrels per day of condensate, the company said
The prospect is 33 kilometers from the Eni-operated Jangrik
field and just three kilometers from its Merakes Field, the company
said. This will allow the new development to share existing
infrastructure, allowing for lower costs and a quicker development
time, Eni said.
