Eni SpA (ENI.MI) said Friday that it has agreed a trial of new ecological fuel for all floating public transport vessels with the city of Venice, Gruppo AVM and Veritas.

Eni said used cooking oil will be collected from citizens and transformed into green diesel at the company's biorefinery in Venice, Italy.

The trial will run for seven months from April 1 until Oct. 31 and Eni's new fuel, Eni Diesel+, which is 15% renewable, will be supplied to the Venetian public transport system at the same cost as traditional diesel, Eni said.
