Egypt's state-owned wheat buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities, said Friday it bought a total of 240,000 metric tons of French, Ukrainian and Russian or Kazakh wheat for shipment March 11-20.

GASC bought 60,000 metric tons of Ukrainian wheat for $259.50 a metric ton from NobleGrain, according to a GASC official. The authority also bought 60,000 tons of Russian or Kazakh wheat from Cargill Inc. at $262.90/ton and 60,000 tons of French wheat from Bunge Ltd. (BG) for $258.75/ton. GASC also purchased 60,000 tons of French wheat for $258.75/ton from NobleGrain.

The following bids were made Friday afternoon:

NobleGrain:

60,000 tons Ukrainian wheat at $259.50/ton from one load port at Sevastopol, Odessa, or Yuzhny and 60,000 tons French wheat at $258.75/ton from two load ports.

Toepfer:

60,000 tons French wheat at $259.49/ton from one load port.

Soufflet:

60,000 tons French wheat at $265.44/ton from two load ports.

Louis Dreyfus and Co.:

55,000 tons soft red winter wheat at $255.65/ton U.S. Gulf.

Nidera:

60,000 tons Romanian wheat at $264.74/ton.

Lecureur:

60,000 tons French wheat at $262.00/ton from two load ports.

In-Vivo:

60,000 tons French wheat at $264.25/ton from one load port.

Bunge Ltd.

60,000 tons French wheat at $258.75/ton from one load port and 60,000 tons Argentinian wheat at $250.00/ton from one load port.

Cargill Inc.

60,000 tons Russian or Kazakh wheat at $263.50/ton freight on board Novo and 45,000 tons Russian or Kazakh wheat at $255.00/ton from one load port from Russia.

Glencore International PLC

60,000 tons French wheat at $262.45/ton from one load port and 60,000 tons Russian wheat at $264.85/ton.
