Pervasive Announces Executive Management Additions to Optimize Organization for Growth and Global Expansion BMC Software and Motorola Veterans Join Pervasive Executive Team to Drive Stronger Global Operating Synergies in Data Management and Integration Product Lines AUSTIN, Texas, June 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pervasive Software(R) Inc. (NASDAQ:PVSW), a global value leader in data infrastructure software, today announced a new management organization designed to strengthen the platform for worldwide expansion. Pervasive is pleased to name BMC Software veteran, Curtis Hill, as vice president of engineering and former Motorola corporate marketing vice president, Sandy West, as vice president of marketing. Mike Hoskins, vice president and general manager of the Integration Products Division and former president of Data Junction (acquired by Pervasive in 2003) has been appointed chief technology officer. Suaad Sait, formerly vice president and general manager of the Database Products Division, will now take the post of vice president and general manager, products and markets. "Following the successful acquisition of Data Junction, Pervasive has been steadily and profitably building the database and integration businesses. In less than a year, we have evolved from a one product, one channel, one market company, to multiple products for various channels in a worldwide marketplace," said David Sikora, president and CEO of Pervasive Software. "In order to maintain this strong operational momentum and seize the growth opportunities which exist in the markets we serve, the new executive team has been assembled to capitalize on synergies between the data management and integration product lines and achieve superior, long-term financial performance for our shareholders." Pervasive will bring the data management and integration product teams together by merging the Database and Integration Product Divisions, originally created to ensure a smooth transition following the Data Junction acquisition. In his new role as vice president and general manager of products and markets, Suaad Sait will focus on product line and market segment opportunity development for all of Pervasive's products worldwide. In his new role as chief technology officer, Mike Hoskins will lead Pervasive's technology direction and evangelize the company's industry-leading low-TCO approach to data management and integration worldwide. Curtis Hill, a 25-year veteran of software engineering management and emerging technologies, joins Pervasive as the vice president of engineering, a critical role as he will lead the worldwide technical operations, including development, quality assurance and technical support for all data infrastructure software products. With extensive expertise leading large, geographically distributed teams with low cost technology production skills across hundreds of products, Curtis will also be charged with accelerating the company's globalization strategy. Most recently, he served as vice president of engineering at BMC Software for the Enterprise Data Management product group, where he led a 550 person engineering team spanning the United States, the United Kingdom and India. Over the last 10 years, he has successfully managed large product development organizations with an established track record of creating high quality, on-time delivery of complex commercial applications for Boole & Babbage (acquired by BMC), Chain Bridge Systems, Landmark Systems and Phillips Petroleum. Sandy West joins Pervasive as vice president of marketing, and will spearhead Pervasive's brand building efforts and product marketing initiatives as the company expands its presence worldwide. With more than 25 years experience leading corporate branding initiatives and executing marketing strategies for technology companies including Apple, Cisco, Dell, Oracle and Motorola, Sandy comes to Pervasive directly from Troux Technologies where she most recently served as vice president of marketing. Prior to Troux, she served as vice president and director of corporate marketing communications for Motorola at their corporate offices. In addition, she has previously held leadership positions at KPMG and IBM. Commenting on the new management team, Sikora added, "Pervasive executives distinguish themselves in the way they consistently drive strong business results, achieving remarkable records of performance and accountability. I am excited by the addition of 2 world-class executives to our already accomplished team, and confident that Pervasive is now extremely well- positioned to take advantage of the growth and globalization opportunities ahead."
