(NASDAQ:MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, today appointed Jay Upchurch, CIO & Senior Vice President of Global Hosting & SaaS. Mr. Upchurch is an accomplished managed application services and product marketing management executive with more than 14 years' experience in professional services and leading large, global hosting and SaaS organizations. In this new role, Mr. Upchurch will be responsible for leading MICROS' Hosting & SaaS and MIS teams around the world as it expands its hosting and SaaS offerings.

Most recently, Mr. Upchurch served with AT&T, where he led worldwide teams in hosting, cloud and applications services. He has also held several executive positions at AT&T where he was responsible for managed services, including managed infrastructure, managed applications and cloud solutions. 

Prior to joining AT&T in 2006 (in connection with AT&T's acquisition of USInternetworking), Mr. Upchurch held executive positions at USInternetworking and Interpath Communications. He has a track record as a technology leader known for his deep expertise and crafting the requisite strategic vision to achieve accelerated growth of a global managed services portfolio. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
