Reflecting its theme of Input Made Easy, InPlay Technologies
(NASDAQ: NPLA) will demonstrate recent innovations in its lineup of
human interface devices at the 2008 International Consumer
Electronics Show (CES), held Jan. 7-10, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nev.
InPlay will showcase advancements to its FinePoint MPD-9xx digital
platform, including multiple types of touch integration and its
roadmap of digital feature enhancements for tablet PCs, smart
phones, point-of-sale systems and kiosks. In addition, the company
will show the reliable, ergonomic control panels made possible by
its Duraswitch line of electronic switches. We provide
technologically advanced products that simplify human-machine
interaction. With the right input controls, users can easily and
intuitively take advantage of the rich features available with
todays electronic products, said Ramesh Ramchandani, president
and COO. FinePoint: the digital difference FinePoint products
provide high-performance pen and touch input solutions. InPlay
offers the only active RF, digital pen input solution providing a
significant advancement in performance and cost over analog
products. InPlays MPD-9xx system is a customizable platform
offering OEMs the choice of battery-powered or battery-free,
cordless or corded pen products, with a full range of choices for
user-defined digital features. The MPD-9xx digitizer board is the
thinnest on the market, reducing the impact on overall product
thickness. The digitizer behind the LCD screen employs
electromagnetic technology to communicate with the pen as it moves
across the surface, reporting the tip status, sensitivity, pen
position, and other details. InPlay's FinePoint digital pen
computing system is designed and engineered to optimize power
consumption while maintaining high accuracy, high resolution and
low noise performance, all while enabling advanced functions such
as hover capability and security coding in a compact,
competitively-priced device. This pen-and-digitizer system allows
the pen itself to interact with the computer and gives the OEM the
capability to incorporate a wide variety of functions and pen
outputs, via a side-mounted button. Duraswitch: electronic switch
solutions Duraswitch electronic switch technologies combine the
user-friendly tactile feel of electromechanical switches with the
space-saving, thin profile design of membrane switches. Based on
the use of a magnetically coupled armature to create a switch,
Duraswitch technology is a unique configuration that eliminates
common switch failures due to flexing or bending parts. The result
is a highly reliable, durable switch that can easily be adapted to
meet a wide range of design requirements. InPlays product line
today includes the PushGate pushbutton, a thin, durable pushbutton
technology with crisp tactile feedback; thiNcoder, a rotary switch
that is integrated on flex circuit, and MagnaMouseTM, a flat-panel
cursor control. InPlays Duraswitch products are used in a wide
range of applications including medical devices and equipment,
industrial controls and commercial appliances. About InPlay
Technologies InPlay Technologies is a developer of innovative human
interface devices for electronic products. The company's FinePoint
division offers the only digital-based pen-input solution for the
rapidly growing mobile computing market. With InPlays digital
technology, OEMs have an almost limitless roadmap for development
of new features and functions for their product designs. The
Companys Duraswitch brand of electronic switch technologies
couples the friendly tactile feedback of mechanical pushbuttons and
rotary dials with the highly reliable, thin profile of membrane
switches enabling OEMs to create ergonomic, space saving input
panels for a wide range of applications. Visit
