Advisory and Ultra-High-Net-Worth Family Office Practice and Expand
Business Development Efforts across Boston Private
Boston Private, a leading provider of fully integrated wealth

today announced Bill Woodson’s intentions to join the firm as
Executive Vice President, Head of Wealth Advisory and Family Office
Services, a newly created role reporting directly to the CEO,
Anthony DeChellis. Mr. Woodson will start with the firm in June of
2019.
In his role with Boston Private, Mr. Woodson will be the
senior-most leader of the Wealth Advisory and Ultra-High-Net-Worth
Family Office practice, consulting with families, family offices
and their advisors to meet their unique financial objectives. He
will work with the firm’s Private Banking, Wealth & Trust teams
to develop comprehensive, advice-based solutions for
ultra-high-net-worth clients and family offices.
Mr. Woodson has more than 25 years of experience within
financial services, joining the firm from Citigroup, where he
served as head of the Family Office Group for Citi Private Bank in
North America. During his tenure at Citi Private Bank, Mr. Woodson
led the development of a number of important programs, including a
philanthropic advisory practice, peer-to-peer family office
collaboration platform, and numerous conferences and thought
leadership white papers. Prior to joining Citi Private Bank, Mr.
Woodson held senior private banking and family office positions at
Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch where, among other
responsibilities, he ran a multi-family office (MFO) business and
managed ultra-high-net-worth and family office clients. Mr. Woodson
was also a founding member of myCFO, an integrated wealth
management firm started by a number of well-known Silicon Valley
technology executives.
Mr. Woodson began his career in a Big Four public accounting
firm as a tax professional, where he spent almost a decade
providing domestic and international tax advice to
ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families and closely-held
businesses. He earned a master’s degree in accounting from New York
University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a bachelor’s
degree in economics from University of California, Irvine.
Starting in late April, Edward V. Marshall is planning to join
Boston Private as a Senior Relationship Manager and Managing
Director responsible for leading business development of
ultra-high-net-worth and family office relationships for the firm’s
Private Banking, Wealth & Trust business.
Mr. Marshall joins Boston Private from Citi Private Bank where
he was a Director in the Global Family Office Group and led
business development and program management for the North American
family office team. Mr. Marshall also advised clients on numerous
aspects of running a family office, including organizational
design, governance, and privacy and reputation management, and has
published numerous white papers on these topics. Prior to joining
Citi Private Bank, Mr. Marshall was a member of the UHNW and Family
Office practice at Credit Suisse and managed client relationships
as a Relationship Manager. He joined Credit Suisse from Booz Allen
Hamilton where he was a member of their Organization and Strategy
practice. Mr. Marshall began his career in the public sector
working for the federal government in the United States and
abroad.
Mr. Marshall earned his MBA from New York University’s Leonard
N. Stern School of Business and a B.S. in human biology from
Michigan State University. He is also a guest lecturer on wealth
management at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
