Ft. Bragg/Pope Army Airfield, NC. This effort has an approximate
value of $17 million. Home to the XVIII Airborne Corps, the 82nd
Airborne Division, and the Special Operations Command, Ft. Bragg is
the Department of Defense cornerstone for rapid deployment ground
forces to defend our nation’s interests worldwide.
"We are honored by the selection of Black Box to provide a
state-of-the-art, IP-based solution for our nation's largest
military installation," stated Mr. Charlie Stone, Black Box Network

command, and control for the soldiers, DA civilians, and military
communities at Ft. Bragg.”
At Ft. Bragg, Black Box Network Services will upgrade and expand
the existing Time-Division Multiplexing (“TDM”) switching

Communication Server 1000 (“CS1000”) at multiple remote sites. The
Nortel solution will provide geographic survivability and open
architecture, to include a common processing engine with the
existing switch, for efficient migration from analog & digital
telecommunications to internet protocol, capitalizing on
packet-based communications and Session Initiation Protocol
(SIP).
