Procera® Networks Inc. (NYSE Amex: PKT), a developer of Evolved DPI solutions providing awareness, analysis, and control for network service providers, today announced that the first PacketLogic™ PL8720's have been shipped and deployed at Major Service Provider and University customer networks across Asia, Europe and the Americas. These initial deployments of this advanced DPI (deep packet inspection) appliance have exceeded the Company's expectations with wins at a new Tier-1 mobile and cable operator, as well as deployments at multiple universities across the globe.

"We believe the PL8720 is a game changing solution within the industry, as it offers significantly improved economies for high-capacity network traffic management deployments," said Jon Lindén, Procera's vice president of global marketing. "We are especially pleased with the strong adoption we have seen within the cable market that includes a new Tier-1 operator and Dautkom TV Latvia. The strong initial demand worldwide has exceeded our expectations and reflects the significant value this advanced solution brings to network operators."

The PL8720 is the industry's first purpose-built 2RU (rack unit), 10-gig DPI appliance specifically designed for customers with explosive network growth who are transitioning from GE (gigabit Ethernet) to 10GE links or require high port-density. PL8720 enables capacity that previously has been the privilege of chassis-based DPI solutions. The compact 2RU form factor offers up to eight 10GE or 16 GE ports in a single appliance. The CAPEX, OPEX and power efficient design has positive impact on the cost and the return on investment, and simplifies the investment decision for network operators.

"As a cable operator we constantly have to assess opportunities and threats from over the top video and voice services, and ensure we provide a good and still profitable Internet service," said Pavel Grigorjev, CTO of Dautkom TV Latvia. "Our subscribers generate a lot of traffic and PL8720 provides a quick return on our investment and protection for the continued rapid growth in number of customers and traffic volume."

New Tier-1 mobile operators and long-standing customers such as Yoigo were quick to adopt the new PL8720. "We are experiencing explosive growth on our mobile broadband network, and we are expecting to upgrade our network from GE links to 10GE links," said Pedro Cayuela Flores, core network manager at the Spanish mobile operator Yoigo. "PacketLogic PL8720 provides us with the ideal platform for growth. As our network and subscriber base continues to grow, the Procera solution has provided us with a significant business advantage by allowing us to pay as we grow rather than doing a large up-front investment."

The PacketLogic PL8720 is generally available now. For further information, please visit www.proceranetworks.com.
