LOS GATOS, CA , a developer of Evolved Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions providing the most accurate traffic awareness, control and protection for complex networks, today announced that it has secured significant customer wins in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region -- with companies such as PCCW Global, Hong Kong's largest telco, Guangzhou University, the largest university in Southwest China, and Air Macau, the flagship airline carrier of Macau -- as well as opened an office in Hong Kong. Perhaps most telling, Q1 revenues for Procera's APAC region grew 90 percent year-over-year and the top five banks in Korea now use PacketLogic solutions.

"As application use increases due to the popularity of P2P, gaming and video, organizations in this region have been ahead of the global curve in using deep packet inspection for optimizing bandwidth performance and realizing a return on their investment in network infrastructure," said Jon Lindn, Procera's vice president of global marketing. "The recent momentum we have earned simply reinforces the value of having a strong local presence. We look forward to helping these innovative operators maintain visibility and control of their network traffic as well as provide them the opportunity to roll out new revenue-generating services."

In addition, Procera recently augmented its global product portfolio through the addition of the PacketLogic(TM) PL10000, the industry's highest performance DPI platform, offering 80Gbps of throughput. Released just last month, the PacketLogic PL10000 will be publicly demonstrated for the first time at CommunicAsia 2008, being held at the Singapore Expo June 17-20. Procera's booth is located in Hall 3, Stand 3J1-01, and attendees will be able to see how service providers, by facilitating real-time traffic data, are using DPI to manage their networks. Those unable to attend CommunicAsia can follow this link to view an online demo of PacketLogic: http://www.proceranetworks.com/products/packetlogic-demo.html.

The PacketLogic PL10000 was designed as a carrier-grade platform to provide the scalability, reliability and flexibility needed to meet network requirements for today and tomorrow. It has four times the capacity of its nearest competitor and can be deployed anywhere in the network. It is driven by a state-of-the-art traffic identification and classification engine, DRDL(TM), which has more than 900 signatures, 200 of which are developed specifically for the Asian market.

"Greater China boasts one of the world's fastest growing economies and Procera's Evolved DPI offerings will be a critical element to companies in this region that have made broadband service delivery a part of their core business," said Johan Wikenstedt, Procera's managing director for APAC. "We've already had great success in this market, and further establishing ourselves within the Hong Kong, Beijing and Taiwan communities is a natural 'next step' to help meet customer demand and cultivate relationships throughout the Pacific Rim."

In order to continue to meet this increased market demand, Procera announced in March that it has further expanded its worldwide network of preferred channel partners in this region (see release: http://www.proceranetworks.com/press-releases/procera-networks-marks-strong-momentum-in-channel-growth-in-asia-pacific-with-4-new-procerapro-par-2.html). These partnerships give Procera unprecedented reach in targeting both established and burgeoning DPI markets within this region.
