Allstate Corp. (ALL) on Thursday said it estimates October pretax catastrophe losses totaled $237 million, or $187 million after taxes.

The Northbrook, Ill., insurance company said the losses stemmed from 12 events, with roughly 60% resulting from one severe weather incident that mainly affected Texas.

Allstate in late October said pretax catastrophe losses totaled $2.26 billion for the first nine months of the year.
