Cummins President, Chief Operating Officer Rich Freeland to Retire

Cummins Inc. (CMI) on Wednesday said Rich Freeland is retiring
as president and chief operating officer after 40 years with the
engine maker.
The Columbus, Ind., company said Tony Satterthwaite, currently
president of its distribution business, will succeed Mr. Freeland
as president and chief operating officer, effective Oct. 15.
Cummins said Tracy Embree, currently president of its components
business, will succeed Mr. Satterthwaite as president of the
distribution unit, while Chief Technical Officer Jennifer Rumsey
will take the helm of the components business.
Jim Fier will succeed Ms. Rumsey as chief technical officer, the
company added.
Cummins said Mr. Freeland will also resign from the board as of
Oct. 15. Mr. Freeland, who joined Cummins in 1979, has been
president and chief operating officer since 2014.
