Vodafone CEO Rebuffs Competition Concerns in Liberty Global Deal -FT

--Vodafone's chief executive says talks related to the purchase
of some Liberty Global assets could extend to the U.K., reports the
FT, as he rebuffed Deutsche Telekom's argument that the proposed
deal should be blocked by German regulators on competition
concerns.
--Vodafone is in talks to buy Liberty Global's cable assets in
some markets, including the Unitymedia network in Germany, the FT
reports.
--Vodafone CEO Vittorio Colao said he was "surprised" that the
head of Deutsche Telekom--the largest telecoms company in
Europe--had complained about a threat to competition, according to
the FT.
