Among the companies with shares expected to trade actively in
Monday's session are WebMD Health Corp. (WBMD), Hasbro Inc. (HAS)
and Nektar Therapeutics (NKTR).
KKR & Co. has reached a deal to buy WebMD for $2.8 billion,
after running an auction and publicly putting itself in play
earlier this year. WebMD's shares rose 20% to $66.10 in premarket
trading.
Hasbro earnings were in line with expectations, but were
shadowed by the company's overvaluation, leaving little room for
top line improvement. Shares fell nearly 5% to $66.10 ahead of
market-open.
Nektar Therapeutics shares rose on news of a drug-development
deal with Eli Lilly & Co. (LLY) worth $150 million. Shares are
up 5.67% to $23.50 premarket.
Hibbett Sports (HIBB) is entering the e-commerce business,
despite being up against strong sporting-goods competition in the
revenue channel, including a recently Nike Inc. (NKE) deal with
Amazon.com Inc.(AMZN) Hibbett also said it expects to swing to a
second-quarter loss and reported a 10% decline in same-store sales.
Shares fell 21% to $15.55 before market-open.
