ADRs End Lower; Pearson Plummets

International stocks trading in New York closed lower
Wednesday.
Pearson PLC (PSO, PSON.LN) was among the companies with ADRs
that traded actively.
The BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts fell 0.3%
to $129.84. The European index decreased 0.4% to $122.40, the Asian
index edged 0.1% lower to $147.50, the Latin American index fell
0.7% to $215.18, and the emerging markets index declined 0.4% to
$256.80.
ADRs of Pearson dropped 29% to $7.13 after the world's largest
education company issued a profit warning for 2018, warned of lower
future dividends and said it plans to sell its stake in its Penguin
Random House publishing joint venture.
