Fourth Annual Principal Meeting to be Held Concurrently with long-running Assistant University

Nationally renowned author and consultant Carson Tate will open Securities America’s 19th annual Assistant University and 4th annual Principal Meeting Oct. 6-7, sharing tips on “Your Personal Productivity Style.” Securities America is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services, Inc. (NYSE MKT: LTS, LTS PrA).

Tate holds a master’s degree in organization development and serves as a consultant, coach and trainer to executives at Fortune 500 companies. Terry Lee, Securities America senior leadership development and training consultant, will provide a second keynote presentation titled “Owning Your Professional and Personal Development.”

During the two-day event, Assistant University attendees from across the country will receive formal classroom instruction and hands-on training, participate in small group and panel discussions, network with other professionals from across the country and meet with Securities America staff for one-on-one consultations.

“As far as we know, we were the first independent broker-dealer to develop a stand-alone conference for support staff,” Kirk Hulett, executive vice president of strategy and practice management at Securities America, said. “Each year, we create a new curriculum with over 30 sessions in three different tracks – Emerging, Experienced and Technology. This year’s Assistant University will empower assistants to succeed in a post-DOL rule world, save time by maximizing our new and enhanced technology, and interact more efficiently with our service teams through our new chat feature and resource desk.”

At the same time, acting principals and OSJs attending the Principal Meeting will learn about supervisory changes brought about by the new DOL fiduciary rule. Securities America’s supervision team will provide a robust agenda designed to give attendees the information and tools they need to keep their advisors compliant while empowering them to be successful. Throughout the event, attendees will build valuable relationships with experienced principals from around the country as they exchange insights on fulfilling their supervisory responsibilities.

Pre-conference sessions will present best practice solutions for using Managed Opportunities, Securities America Advisors’ premier advisory platform, and Albridge Wealth Reporting. Securities America’s Sales Assistant Advisory Board and Principal Advisory Council will also meet prior to the conference. These two groups provide feedback on Securities America’s services and offer suggestions for possible improvements.

All Assistant University and Principal Meeting attendees will be invited to participate in a team building event in which they will assemble bicycles for underprivileged children.
