LONDON--Energy company SSE PLC (SSE.LN) said Wednesday that its power station at Fiddler's Ferry, Cheshire, has secured a contract to provide ancillary services to National Grid (NG.LN).

The one-year contract, which starts on April 1, covers one of the three available units at the site. It was secured following a competitive procurement process.
