IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Netlist, Inc.
(NASDAQ: NLST), a leading provider of high performance memory
storage solutions for the cloud computing and storage markets,
announced its participation at the SNIA Flash Memory Summit
Conference where it will provide a demonstration of its recently
launched EXPRESSvault EV3 PCI Express® (PCIe®) 3.0 Non-volatile RAM
(NVRAM). Netlist, a member of the Storage Networking Industry
Association (SNIA), will showcase EXPRESSvault's bandwidth and I/Os
per second (IOPS) on a Dell R630 Haswell based Server at the SNIA
booth 820 during the Conference which is taking place this week in
Santa Clara, CA.
Mario Martinez, Senior Director
of Marketing at Netlist, will participate in the Flash on the
Memory Bus Panel Discussion taking place on Wednesday, August 12th from 9:45-10:50 AM PST. The Panel will discuss
flash on the memory bus, one of the hottest subsystem solutions to
emerge recently. They will examine how high speed and low
latency FLASH in DIMM form factor on the memory bus has opened up a
wide range of new markets.
"We are thrilled to showcase the EXPRESSvault EV3's ["EV3"]
plug-and-play PCIe connectivity at this premier industry event,"
said Chris Lopes VP of Sales and
Co-founder at Netlist. "EV3 provides impressive performance
and is ready to use the day it ships. There are no motherboard,
BIOS, and Memory Reference Code (MRC) adjustments required and no
need to rewrite any of the software applications. This unparalleled
simplicity for a high performance solution will further accelerate
the product's adoption into the market."
Netlist's EV3 family is a new ultra-fast storage class memory
tier designed to accelerate mission critical applications in
scale-out storage, all-flash arrays, database systems, distributed
file systems, and server-side caching. The product can be
used as both a block storage device and a persistent memory
extension mapped directly to the host. In addition, the EV3
can be applied to storage systems using inline deduplication and
compression, encryption, indexing and mapping.
EV3 is the latest enterprise class product from Netlist, based
on the industry-standard PCIe 3.0 interface to enable plug-and-play
PCIe connectivity. The half-height and half-length card
combines the high speed and endurance of DRAM with the
non-volatility of MLC NAND flash to deliver sustainable performance
of more than 400K I/Os per second (IOPS) with sub-microsecond
latency—performance far superior than today's fastest Solid State
Drives (SSD). EV3 is an ideal match for 1U server and storage
solutions in next-generation data centers for cloud computing that
integrate IBM POWER or Intel Haswell/Broadwell CPUs and Serial
Attached SCSI (SAS) and PCI Express SSD products.
Key competitive attributes of the EXPRESSvault EV3 include:
- Virtually unlimited write endurance
- Fast backup times: 4GB ~ 24 seconds, 8GB ~ 48 seconds, 16GB ~
96 seconds
- Supercap rating: 5 year @ 55C ambient, UL certification
- Supercap charge time – less than 4 min
- Extensive health monitoring, error reporting with predictive
failure warnings, and backup, restore, power, NAND life status
- 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities
