ANNOUNCES APPROVAL FOR INDEPENDENT REVIEW BOARD (IRB)

Time Machine Laser Series receives IRB approval for Multi-Site
Study.

company development. Medifirst Solutions, Inc. is pleased to
announce that its Time Machine Laser Series has been granted
Independent Review Board (IRB) approval for multi-site studies. The
studies will be performed in the Boca Raton Medical Center as well
as in our New Jersey Franklin Lakes location which is currently
being registered.
Medifirst has developed a mobile hand-held Green and Infrared
Laser device and a treatment protocol called The Time Machine Laser
Series designed for anti-aging and skin care and repair related
applications. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the ability
of two separate investigational devices, each pending to a
particular need. The Green Laser, 532nm will be used for the
treatment of superficial vascular lesions and brown pigmentations,
due to the wavelengths reported and high absorption by hemoglobin
and melanin. The Infrared 810/830nm will be used for its
efficacy on Photorejuvenation via photobiomodulation and
photobiostimulation. Driven by the huge demand for minimally
invasive anti-aging treatments, the global market for medical and
therapeutic lasers have been estimated to grow as high as to $4
billion in 2015.
An Institutional Review Board, also called an Independent Review
Board (IRB) is a group of people (or a “board”) who review research
to assure that it will be done in a way that protects the rights,
safety, and welfare of the research participants. IRBs review the
informed consent document to ensure it provides enough information
about the research in terms you can understand, so that you can
decide whether or not you want to participate. If the board feels
the research meets the criteria set forth by the FDA or DHHS for
IRB approval, they will approve the research. Sometimes they
require changes to the research and/or the informed consent
document. The IRB continues to provide oversight of the research
until its completion.
IRBs follow the regulations of the United States Department of
Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA). When a study is proposed to the IRB, the IRB
considers the following points, among other things, prior to
granting approval of the research: The possible risks versus
possible benefits of the study; The methods the study doctor
(investigator) will use to protect the privacy of participants in
the study; The methods the study doctor will use to ensure that
research participants are fully informed of their rights.
