a full truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE:
CNW), demonstrated its support of Wreaths Across America this year
by supplying in-kind transportation for tens of thousands of
wreaths that were placed on veterans' headstones at cemeteries
across the country.
Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization whose mission
is to Remember, Honor and Teach about our veterans' service and
sacrifice through an annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington
National Cemetery and over 1,000 other cemeteries throughout
America and abroad.
For this year's effort, Con-way Truckload provided pro-bono
transportation for shipping six truckloads of wreaths — three from
Maine to Kansas City and three from Maine to Houston — amounting to an in-kind donation of
over $7,000. In addition, the company
sponsored advertisements in USA
Today and Randall Reilly
publications in support of Wreaths Across America, representing an
additional charitable contribution of nearly $15,000.

Robert Szymanski, a U.S. Army
veteran and one of the Con-way Truckload drivers who delivered a
truckload of wreaths from Maine to
the Houston National Cemetery. "I know firsthand the sacrifices
these brave men and women made and I really appreciate Con-way
Truckload's commitment to honoring them and supporting all members
of the military, past and present."
Today, approximately 16 percent of Con-way Truckload's employees
are military service veterans, including members of the National
Guard and Reserves, holding a variety of professional roles
throughout the company.
