PARSIPPANY, N.J., Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Pirate's
Booty® has been providing fun snacks made with
goodness for the family for more than 25 years, and now it's
becoming part of another family tradition by joining the legendary
lineup of Macy's Thanksgiving Day
Parade® floats. The Pirate's Booty "Treasure Hunt" pirate ship float is sure to
bring adventure and pirate-y fun to more than 3.5
million spectators and more than 50 million television viewers
nationwide. To celebrate the float's inaugural sail down the Parade
route, Pirate's Booty will also launch an online "Share
Yarrr Thanksgiving Traditions"
contest in the coming month for a chance to win a trip for four to
New York to watch the 2015 Parade
live.
The Pirate's Booty "Treasure
Hunt" float will make waves as the 40-foot tall pirate ship
will display a giant treasure map and surprises that will shiver
yarrr timbers as it makes its way down the streets of Manhattan. The Pirate's Booty Pirate
will come to life and steer the ship, while his first mate Crunchy
the Parrot will keep a lookout from the crow's nest.
"The Macy's Thanksgiving Day
Parade is a part of what makes Thanksgiving such a uniquely American holiday,
bringing wholesome fun into millions of homes year after year. We
are thrilled to be a part of that family tradition and to bring
Pirate's Booty to life with the 'Treasure Hunt' float," said
Eric Berniker, vice president of
consumer engagement and innovation at Pirate's Booty.
"As the grand schooner ship sets sail down the Parade route,
millions of fans will join the Pirate's Booty Pirate and his
first mate, Crunchy the Parrot on an incredible holiday treasure
hunt," said Amy Kule, executive
producer of Macy's Thanksgiving Day
Parade. "This wonderful pirate-themed creation is sure to
entertain the scores of fans lining the streets of Manhattan and those gathered around television
screens nationwide."
