Scout Rapid Response System Addresses Growing Oil Spill Concerns

Scout Exploration Inc. (OTCBB:SCXN) has acquired the rights to an
airborne, oil spill response system currently under development at
IDS Offshore Inc., of St. John's, Newfoundland.
Growth in offshore drilling between Q1 2011 and Q4 2012
represents an expanding market for the Scout IDS Airborne Spill
Response System.
During the 24 months between January 2011 and December 2012 the
contracted offshore rig count grew by approximately 100 units, an
increase of nearly 20% and now stands at an 85.2% fleet utilization
rate.
Scout Exploration remains optimistic that its proprietary
air-deployed unmanned spill response system, now in prototype
development, represents an increasingly attractive mitigation
technology as the offshore sector continues to grow.
"We believe that putting enough of the right equipment into the
water and working within a few hours of a spill will make a huge
difference in all but the most severe conditions. We certainly have
the capability to make this happen, and the speed, range and
turn-around time of aircraft far exceeds that of standard response
vessels," says Rene Lange, lead engineer. "We look forward to
increased cooperation with industry and government to advance this
innovative project."
The Scout system drops from standard military, civilian and
coast guard aircraft (C-130) and reduces critical time to
containment by hours, or by days in cases of more remote spills,
compared to current ship-borne methods.
By substantially reducing time to containment, the Scout
air-deployed unmanned spill response system help minimize
environmental and economic impact from deepwater and costal oil
spill events, and as such offers exceptionally large scale benefits
critical to effective offshore hydrocarbon operation.
