Acquisition of PTUSA enables U.K. Elite Soccer to expand its national reach into Massachusetts

U.K. Elite Soccer, Inc., a portfolio company of Steel Sports, Inc., today announced it has acquired PTUSA, a leading soccer coaching education and services provider in Massachusetts. In addition to established soccer camp and training programs, PTUSA’s Coastal FC provides a platform for expansion into the year-round competitive club soccer market.

Headquartered in Cedar Knolls, N.J., U.K. Elite Soccer is a leading youth soccer coaching education and services provider specializing in soccer camps, residential training weeks, management of municipal organizations and club soccer programs, and proprietary clubs across 22 states throughout the United States.

Further, its two subsidiary groups, Global Team Events LLC and FCUSA, specialize in international soccer tours, customized sports marketing events, competitive club soccer and tournaments.

“Over the past 12 years, PTUSA has led the way in developing positive training and playing experiences for thousands of players and coaches in southeastern Massachusetts. We are immensely proud of what PTUSA stands for, and U.K. Elite Soccer will help us continue to influence even more young players throughout the region. I feel that the timing of this acquisition is perfect, and one that will benefit all of our existing players, families and communities,” said Paul Turner, CEO of PTUSA.

U.K. Elite Soccer said this strategic acquisition will further enhance its growing reputation as one of the most exciting national coaching organizations in the United States. PTUSA will benefit from the integration of quality coaches, managers, resources and best practices from U.K. Elite Soccer’s methodology – which will add further impetus and scale to U.K. Elite Soccer’s exciting developments, including the launch of Global Team Events and partnerships with Adidas and Soccer.com.

“We have personally known the owners of PTUSA for 12 years and are confident that our shared core values and principles make this a perfect fit for U.K. Elite Soccer. We believe that their passion for soccer education will be a valuable component in establishing U.K. Elite Soccer in Massachusetts,” said U.K. Elite Soccer CEO Mick Smoothey.

U.K. Elite Soccer currently has approximately 50,000 participants annually – including 15,000 parent coaches – and direct access to more than 80,000 separate families. PTUSA attracts approximately 7,500 attendees annually in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. With a combined 40+ years of experience, innovation and leadership in youth soccer education, these industry pioneers will now be working together to provide the best possible soccer experience on and off the field for all of their combined players, coaches and families. The new partnership solidifies U.K. Elite Soccer’s position as one of the top youth soccer organizations in the country with the largest product range within the industry.
