Winterflood Securities Limited have today written to Sodra Petroleum AB
shareholders who are registered on the UK share register which is maintained
by Capital IRG Plc. The full text of the letter is set out below:

Dear Sir/Madam

Sodra Petroleum AB (the "Company"); conversion of convertible shares of SEK
0.05 each in the share capital of the Company ("Convertible Shares")

We are writing to you as a holder of Convertible Shares ("Shareholder"),
however if you have sold or transferred your Convertible Shares, please
forward this letter to the purchaser or transferee, or to the stockbroker,
bank or other agent through whom the sale or transfer was effected for
transmission to the purchaser or transferee.


As you may be aware, subject to certain exceptions, under Swedish company law
only Swedish individuals or companies may be included on a Swedish company
share register. For this reason your stock is held by Winterflood Securities
Limited ("Winterflood") as a client of Svenska Handlesbanken, which acts as a
Swedish nominee to Winterflood. The register of the Company's UK shareholders
is held by Capita IRG.


Recently Shareholders were invited to convert their Convertible Shares into
warrants to subscribe for Lundin Oil AB ("Lundin") B shares of SEK 0.50
("Lundin B Shares") on the following basis:


                                        for every eleven Convertible Shares
                                             a warrant to subscribe for one
                                        Lundin B Share at a price of SEK 0.50




The conversion period ended on 14 June 2001, however Winterflood have made
provision for Shareholders who hold their Convertible Shares through
Winterflood to convert their holding on the above basis.


Lundin is also a Swedish registered company. Capita IRG are prepared to offer
a UK register and Winterfloods will provide the same arrangements as currently
provided to UK Convertible Shareholders. However this arrangement will not
continue indefinitely, as Lundin is quoted on the Swedish Stock Exchange and
is not, nor is there any intention for it to be, quoted on the Alternative
Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange plc. Shareholders will be given
reasonable notice as to when this service will be terminated.




The closing middle market quotation for Convertible Shares and Lundin B Shares
as at 20th June 2001 are set out below:

Should you wish to convert you holding please notify Yvonne Evans at the above
address, at your earliest convenience, but not later than 18 July 2001.
Shareholders choosing to convert their Convertible Shares should send a
cheque, made payable to Winterflood Securities Limited, for an amount equal to
the sterling equivalent of the subscription price for the number of Lundin B
Shares that they so choose to subscribe for. This amount may be calculated as
follows:


Number of Sodra Convertible shares to be converted x #0.00303

(rounded down to the nearest whole pence)




You should note that on 19 June 2001 the Company announced that as a result of
Shareholders converting their Convertible Share, Lundin held approximately 94
per cent. of the share capital of the Company and as such were proposing to
initiate compulsory acquisition proceeding to acquire the remaining
Convertible Shares, in accordance with the Swedish Companies Act.


The exchange rate, for the purpose of the subscription of Lundin B Shares, is
SEK 15 per #1.
