Kvaerner concludes NOK 500 million Norwegian bond issue

LONDON, 12 DECEMBER 2000: Kvaerner, the Anglo-Norwegian engineering and
construction Group, today announced that it has concluded a NOK 500 million
loan issue in the Norwegian domestic market.

The issue consists of two loans, a fixed rate loan of NOK 200 million and a
floating rate loan of NOK 300 million. The new loans are for general corporate
purposes and will be used as a replacement for other corporate borrowings. The
loans will yield 3 per cent above the NOK swap rate and 3 months NOK NIBOR
rate, respectively.
