--ValueAct Capital in the letter said it had become frustrated that its engagement with the Japanese company hadn't led to the adoption of a strategy to grow faster and improve profitability, according to Reuters.

--The letter didn't say how ValueAct will seek to oust the four directors, whom it didn't identify, Reuters reports.
