Allocate Software plc (AIM:ALL), the leading provider of workforce optimisation
and electronic rostering solutions in the UK healthcare market, is pleased to
announce that Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust
(BHRUT) has selected Allocate Software's MAPS Healthroster solution for
electronic rostering of junior doctors and medical staff. The contract is
significant because it is the first Trust to implement the solution specifically
to manage the rostering of junior doctors and medical staff.

Gill Perry, Deputy Director of HR at BHRUT says, "As one of the largest
operating Trusts in England, we are always looking for ways to improve and
simplify the processes involved with managing a large workforce, while at the
same time maintaining the delivery of the best possible level of care. This was
particularly the case with the management of the rotas of junior doctors and
medical staff which is a highly complex process, and became even more prevalent
with the new legislative requirements of the European Working Time Directive
(EWTD)."

MAPS Healthroster was implemented in late 2008 in the Medicine specialty at
Queen's Hospital; the solution has since been rolled out to other specialties
across the Trust, with all medical staff across all specialties at the Trust
expected to be using the solution by the end of 2009.

Gill Perry further commented, "Implementation of MAPS Healthroster is proving to
be a great success and benefits are already being realised across the Trust; as
well as efficiency savings in producing and maintaining doctors' rotas, there is
now a level of visibility to the rota that wasn't previously available. This has
enabled management to make objective staffing decisions, refocusing the delivery
of services to meet patient needs.

The solution has also been key in helping us achieve the Trust's targets of
becoming European Working Time Directive compliant by August 2009. Since the
first rotas were worked in April, the Trust's EWTD's compliancy rating has risen
from 59% to 100% compliant by the deadline of August 1st 2009. MAPS Healthroster
has also helped the Trust to more effectively monitor and track annual leave
through increased transparency of the rotas to ensure more equitable management
of staff."

Commenting on the announcement, Paul Scandrett Allocate Software's Director of
Healthcare said, "We are delighted to be working with BHRUT to help manage the
complexity of Doctors rosters and are extremely proud that the Trust has been
able to achieve such high levels of EWTD compliance. This is a major focus
within the NHS currently, and the team at Barking, Having and Redbridge
University Hospitals NHS Trust should be congratulated on this significant
achievement."
