Actively Explore Household and Industrial
Service Robots
InvenSense, Inc. (NYSE: INVN), a leading provider of MEMS sensor
platforms, and Shanghai New Century Robot Co, Ltd., a provider of
advanced intelligent robots, announced an alliance in the
development of intelligent balance vehicles. The intelligent robot
industry in China is a burgeoning market with broad prospects. By
applying the combined market-leading technology and outstanding
design capability of both companies to intelligent vehicles,
InvenSense and Shanghai New Century Robot Co. are driving a new
paradigm in personal transportation and service, as intelligent
balance vehicles and service robots become increasingly
ubiquitous.
New Century’s i-ROBOT and i-go series represent a new generation
of intelligent vehicles that integrate self-balancing technology
with a kinetic energy cycle self-adjustment system. According to
the “Development Plan for the Robot Industry (2016-2020),” by 2020,
the annual sales of service robots in China will exceed RMB 30
billion Yuan (USD $4.5B).
“This is the prelude to an intelligent vehicle boom,” said Dan
Goehl, vice president worldwide sales, InvenSense. “InvenSense and
Shanghai New Century Robot Co., Ltd. are actively working together
to explore opportunities in household robots, as well as and
industrial service robots, including bank robots, hotel robots, and
security robots.”
“A very important concept of service robots is to serve
humanity,” said Zhen Guo, vice president operations, Shanghai New
Century. “The word “service” is the key. Its application is
extensive: serving the aging population, providing elderly care and
assistance to the disabled, as well as serving demands in
housework, communities and service industries. The China market
demand is significant, especially with adoption of robots into
households.”
The InvenSense and Shanghai New Century Robot Co, Ltd. alliance
will be exhibited in the InvenSense booth in Hall N1, stand 1742 at
the 2016 CES Asia event taking place in Shanghai, China from May
11-13, 2016. To schedule press and partner meetings at the show,
