French Bourse Regulator Extends Short-Selling Ban

The French bourse regulator, the Autorite des Marches
Financiers, said Wednesday that it's extending its ban on short
selling.
The regulator first introduced measures prohibiting the practice
of short selling of shares in some French companies in September
2008, including Axa (CS.FR), BNP Paribas (BNP.FR), Crédit Agricole
(ACA.FR) Dexia (DEXB.BT) et Société Générale (GLE.FR), among
others.
