A group of Oclaro, Inc. shareholders are attempting
to block the purchase of the company by Lumentum Holdings Inc.

The shareholders allege that the purchase price of $5.60 per share in cash and 0.636 of a share of Lumentum (representing an implied price of $9.99 per share) is insufficient in light of the company's growth prospects, and that deal-protection clauses in the merger agreement preclude other
companies from submitting successful competing offers. In addition, shareholders allege that senior management obtained personal benefits for their own self interests in agreeing to sell the company that are not being shared with common stockholders.

Oclaro did not immediately respond to requests for a comment.

$OCLR $8.74 Optical component makers spike on report of China Mobile tender

A tender for optical components by China Mobile (CHL -0.2%) has forced an end-of-day spike for makers of those components.

NeoPhotonics (NYSE:NPTN) jumped 10.7%; Oclaro (NASDAQ:OCLR) rose 5.6%; Acacia (NASDAQ:ACIA) jumped 5.5%; and Applied Optoelectronics (NASDAQ:AAOI) rose 4.1% after a report by Rosenblatt's Jun Zhang pointed to the tender, part of a project to build 50,000-70,000 40G/100G ports, according to the note.

Finisar (NASDAQ:FNSR) jumped 3.3% and Lumentum (NASDAQ:LITE) rose 3%.

Huawei is likely to take 50% of the order, Zhang says -- and it makes up 18% of Oclaro's total revenue as well as 17% of Lumentum's and 11% of Finisar's, Bloomberg says.

Oclaro, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCLR) – Analysts at DA Davidson cut their Q1 2018 earnings estimates for shares of Oclaro in a research report issued on Thursday. DA Davidson analyst M. Kelleher now expects that the semiconductor company will post earnings of $0.15 per share for the quarter, down from their prior forecast of $0.16. DA Davidson has a “Buy” rating and a $14.00 price objective on the stock. DA Davidson also issued estimates for Oclaro’s Q2 2018 earnings at $0.16 EPS, Q3 2018 earnings at $0.15 EPS, FY2018 earnings at $0.66 EPS and FY2019 earnings at $0.72 EPS.

Oclaro saw a big volume jump despite no significant news. The stock has edged back a dollar since hitting as high as $10.73 last week.

I don't understand the "Whip-Shot" deal here..

On the 28th, I caught the dip for few hundred dollar profit..! and closed out...

On the 1st, I caught another "dip to rise", but held on to it...! In the "After Hours", profits went up to over $400.... At open, it was down to about $200...

There was no real news at the open so I held, and finally dropped it late morning for a profit of about $20... and Extremely glad I did, as in the After hours today, it took a serious nose dive [$8.19 to $7.33].....

now some news comes out...! Like "What the F**8"...?

I don't know how many people caught this, but OCLR went up to $8.90 per share in after hours "Form T" trading today...

Unfortunately, my trading platform doesn't allow "after hours trades"...

Be interesting to see what the morning does...
