In a move to step up its global growth momentum as a specialized semiconductor foundry, Dongbu HiTek today announced it has recruited two highly experienced executives to fill key management positions. Dr. Chang-Sik Choi, former EVP of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., has been named President/CEO, and Mr. Chan-Hee Lee, former EVP of MagnaChip Semiconductor Corporation, has been named President in charge of Dongbu HiTek’s foundry business.

Over the past decade, Dongbu HiTek has emerged as the world’s top specialty foundry by making considerable investments in developing its Analog CMOS and specialized BCDMOS processing technologies. With the additions of Dr. Choi and Mr. Lee to its executive team, the Korean firm aims to capture new profitable growth opportunities to more fully leverage its specialized and widely respected expertise in analog and mixed-signal technologies.

Dr. Chang-Sik Choi

Dr. Choi brings a wealth of semiconductor industry experience to Dongbu HiTek, thanks to his 29-year tenure with Samsung Electronics taking on increasing management responsibilities. His prior relevant positions include: Foundry Center Chief of System LSI Division; Manufacturing Center Chief; Team Leader of Display Driver IC Business; and ASIC Development Team Leader. Dr. Choi earned his Ph.D in Electronic Engineering from North Carolina University and both his Master and Bachelor degrees in Material Engineering from Seoul National University.

Mr. Chan-Hee Lee

Mr. Lee worked for five years at MagnaChip, a supplier of analog and mixed-signal chips for consumer applications. His prior MagnaChip positions were GM of the Foundry Business and GM of the DDI/CIS Business. Earlier in his career he served as GM of Hynix Semiconductor’s Foundry Business and worked within LG Semiconductor. Mr. Lee earned his Bachelor of Electronic Engineering Degree from Korea’s Kyungpook National University.
