China Unicom Ltd. (CHU) Chairman Chang Xiaobing said Friday that the company will buy iPhones directly from Apple for sale in the China market and its deal with the U.S. company doesn't involve revenue sharing.

Chang, speaking to reporters at a press conference, said China Unicom will offer subsidies to customers who buy the handset, but he didn't elaborate on the amount.

China Unicom Executive Director and President Lu Yimin said the company aims to take more than one-third of China's third-generation mobile market next year.

It expects 3G users will make up 20% of China's mobile market in 2010.
