Company of Ireland Limited) in the ordinary shares of Kenmare Resources Plc.  We
understand that there are 563,288,545 ordinary shares of Kenmare Resources Plc.
in issue at 30th June 2004.



I wish to confirm that at the 30th June 2004, the combined shareholdings of
entities in the Zurich Financial Services Group Plc. amounts to 18,925,000
ordinary Shares in Kenmare Resources Plc. and this amounts to 3.360% of the
Issued Ordinary Share Capital.  The holdings were all acquired during June 2004.
