Cammell Laird Sale and Charter Former Lowline Trio
Cammell Laird, the international marine services company, today announced that
it has successfully completed contracts to either charter or sell the three
ships purchased from the receivers of Lowline Limited in May this year.
The Edinburgh Castle, as previously announced, has been chartered to Premier
Cruise Lines of the United States for an initial period of five years under
the name of Big Red Boat II. Premier has the option to extend at the end of
this period, for a further five years with an option to purchase.
The Oceanic Cavalier (previously Lowland Cavalier) is currently operating
under charter in the Mediterranean and the Oceanic Pioneer (previously Lowland
Pioneer) has been sold to Gulf Offshore N.S. Limited.
Jon Schofield, Finance Director of Cammell Laird, commented:
"The charter of the Big Road Boat II and Oceanic Cavalier, along with the sale
of the Oceanic Pioneer is very encouraging as it demonstrates that the Group
is both capable of, and successful at offering the full range of marine
services, from sourcing vessels, conversion and repair work, through to
charter or sale."
